Our parents & citizens' association (P&C) brings the school community together. Parents, teachers and community members can help meet the needs of the school community and contribute to decisions about the school.
The P&C also raises funds that help finance improvements to our school and provide additional resources.
WALCHA CENTRAL SCHOOL P & C ASSOCIATION
The Walcha Central School P & C Association promotes the involvement of parents and community members in the education of students at our school.
Our meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month during school terms. We meet in the Staff Common Room at 6.30pm.
The P & C has representatives on the School Council, MPC Committee, and numerous other groups within the school.
At each meeting, we receive reports from the principal on the activities occurring in the school, and have the opportunity to ask questions about the school.
Membership entitles you to attend meetings, receive the minutes and vote. To become a member pay $1 in an envelope with your name, phone number and email address on it and leave at the front office.
Whether you are a P & C member or not, you can help at any P&C function and we encourage you to do so.
The P & C operates the school canteen which provides nutritious, low cost food for students and staff each day, and also contributes significant funds to the school budget each year. We have a paid supervisor, but rely heavily on voluntary work. Parents and friends are welcome to put their name down for the roster each term.
Walcha Central School uniforms including jackets are for sale through ‘Struddy's Sports, Armidale' at very competitive prices. Second hand clothing can sometimes be purchased at St. Vincent de Paul Society shop in town.
A school banking service with the Commonwealth Bank is offered each week for students on Tuesday.
If you require any further information on the P & C or its activities, please enquire at the school office, or come along to a meeting.
P & C members look forward to meeting you.
